Tamang Heritage Trek Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Get refreshed in a hotel after your warm welcome at Tribhuwan International Airport and spend your leisure evening in the fantastic city and local lifestyle.

    Meals: Not Included

  • Day 2: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

Early morning, move for the seven-hour drive to the entrance of Langtang Valley. The way to Tamang Heritage Trail is hilly and winding through it provides us spectacular views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the peaks of the Langtang region. Then the road launches towards the Trishuli River, about a day’s drive.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 3: Syabrubesi trek to Gatlang (approx. 5.5 hours)

On this day, you will reach Syabrubesi, the typical starting point for the Langtang Valley and Gosaikund trek. You will be moving to the Goljang Valley for lunch, enjoying the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal and the Gosaikunda range. After walking for about three hours, you will reach Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village, for your overnight stay.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 4: Gatlang to Tatopani (approx. 7 hours)

The day begins with the descending towards Thanguchet alongside a river. After lunch, you will again follow the trail enjoying hanging the bridge and climbing the hills to Tatopani. Many places are named Tatopani all over Nepal, which means ‘hot water.’ You will stay overnight here and enjoy your natural hot springs. According to the locals, it is believed that the hot spring helps heal the pain and aches from the trek.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 5: Tatopani to Thuman (approx. 4 hours)

After breakfast, you will head to Nagthali Danda(3300m), the open and height spot covered by green grassland, to watch the magnificent views of the Himalayas ranges. En route, you will have lunch at Brimdang village and continue towards the destination. On the way to Thuman, you will rest with a grand Masalachiya (tea) served by the gompa’s caretaker. You will stay overnight at this Tamang Village, Thuman, and enjoy the local culture and traditions in the evening.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 6: Thuman to Briddim (approx. 5 hours)

Today’s walk begins along a flatter section of trail, then descends to Timure. It follows part of the old trade route to Tibet, and in fact, Tibet is not far away—just three hour walk. However, it’s not possible to walk across the border these days, and there’s a heavy police presence along the roads in this area.
After lunch, the trail continues to Briddim, another Tamang village, where you’ll stay in a local home for a truly unique experience. All accommodation, lodgings, and food are offered at local houses on a rotational basis, so you can be sure that your stay benefits the whole community and not just one or two enterprising families (as is sometimes the case with hotels and lodges).

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 7: Briddim trek to Syabrubesi (approx. 3 hours)

The lighter three hours walk back down towards Syabrubesi brings you for lunch. Explore the local lifestyle and spend the day relaxing over there. You can do some shopping in a small town in Syabrubesi. You can find some local handicrafts made by local women.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 8: Drive back to Kathmandu

Enjoy your drive-back trip to Kathmandu with many sight scenes.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

  • Day 9: Return to your country

Return to your home country with many memories of your vacation in Nepal. Goodbye until the next time.

    Meals: Breakfast

We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.

    Essential Information

As per your wish, we can combine the Langtang Valley trek and the Gosaikund trek with the Tamang Heritage Trail. You can continue directly to the Lama hotel instead of returning to Syabrubesi from Briddim. This way, you can keep your trail to KyanjinGompa, which offers magnificent and panoramic views of the Langtang Himalaya ranges. While returning, you can stop at ThuloSyabru and then Syabrubesi. To extend, you must add 3-4 days to the trek.

The top-rated trek among domestic and international treks is Gosaikund Trek. This trek has significance and is an excellent trek with more challenges in this area. You can add this trek along with the Langtang Valley trek to experience more adventure. This trek should only be attempted on the return from Langtang because the chances of suffering from the high altitude can not be ignored. You must add more than three days for this trek.
