Big rhododendron forests, cold streams, green hills, and wide valleys come along during this trek. One of the main goals of the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is the holy lake of Gosaikunda, this lake important to both the Hindu and Buddhist religions is said to relieve pain. Its origin according to legend came to be as the Hindu God Lord Shiva’s Trishul stuck a rock and water came flowing out forming the holy lake.

 

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking Route

Starting the Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking with a scenic drive towards Syabrubhesi located in the Rasuwa district of Nepal. From here the trekking trail starts and we head up through lush green forests. Filled with wildlife and beautiful botany along the Langtang River. Deep in the forest, we find a hidden forest camp where travelers can rest and enjoy the surrounding nature. Heading further into the trek we reach the Lama Hotel. From here we can visit the legendary Kyanjin Gompa, an old Buddhist monastery also known from the Kyanjijn Gompa Trek.

Seeing the traditional Buddhist rituals and prayers gives one soul peace and relaxation. In combination with the surrounding Nepali Highlands, it brings a serene atmosphere. Also inbound on this trek is the well-known Gosaikunda Pass a treacherous part on the trek where we will need to watch every step. The Peregrine Treks staff is well experienced and will make sure that this pass will be smooth and enjoyable. After crossing the Pass we head further covering many uphill and downhill trails. Afterward, we reach Sundarijal from where we head back to Kathmandu.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking Itinerary & Other Details

Day 01

Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International (1300m/4264ft) 

Peregrine Treks Airport Representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to the Hotel. The itinerary will be discussed with the tour leader and trekking guides.

Day 02

Bus Drive to Syaprubeshi (1550 m/5100 ft) 7/8 hrs

The early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syaprubeshi in Rasuwa district along the hilly road passing by Nuwakot. The green terraced farmlands and the rural highway lifestyle can be observed in this 7 hours long drive.

Day 03

Syaprubeshi to Lama Hotel (2380 m/7830 ft) 5/6 hrs

The walking period on this day will be around 6 hrs passing by the small Tamang Villages on the banks of Langtang river. The trail moves inside the forests of rhododendron and bamboo. The Lama Hotel is the small hotels and lodge town inside the forest.

Day 04

Lama Hotel to Munelu (3543 m/11621 ft) via Langtang Village 6/7 hrs

The trekking comprises of the walking trails through jungles and plain land as well as uphill. The inscriptions along the trail after Ghoda Tabela. The views of the mountains like Langtang Lirung, Tserko Ri, Shisha Pangma can be seen from the place.

Day 05

Munelu to Kyanging Gumpa (3870 m/ 12697 ft) 4/5  hrs

The trekking is about 2 hours and after lunch, short hiking to hills around Kyanjin then stay in the lodge. The evening time can be well spent to gather the information regarding the Sherpa culture.

Day 06

Kyanjin Gompa to Tsergo Ri (5000 m/ 16404) 6/7 hrs

The early morning hiking towards Tsergo Ri will take about 5 hours. The magnificent view of the panoramic mountains and the feeling of the high pass trekking would be the thrilling experience for you. Then trekkers return back to the lodge in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07

Trek down to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gompa, 6/7 hrs

The trail then routes back to Lama Hotel the same place and trail from where you came to the Kyanjin. The trails passing by the wall inscriptions, rhododendron forests and bamboo forests will lead you back to Lama hotel. The trekking hours will be about 5 hrs.

Day 08

 Lama Hotel to Thulo Syapru, 6/7 hrs

The uphill trekking will take you to the Thulo Syapru the old traditional route to Gosainkunda Lake. The village of Tamang origin people will greet you in this day's 6 hours journey.

Thulo Syapru to Lauribina, 3/4 hrs

From Thulo Syapru the trail could be strenuous because the Lauribina is the highest place that you will reach in this trekking with 4680m height. The view from Lauribina is awesome and spectacular. This Day's trekking would be for 6-7 hours.

Day 10

Lauribinayak to Gosainkunda (4460 m/14632 ft) 2 hrs

From Lauribinayak the trekking moves towards the awesome place of Langtang region the holy Gosainkunda Lake. The fresh water and cool environment will be breathtaking. This trekking period is about 5-6 hours.

Day 11

Gosainkunda to Gosainkunda Pass (4610 m) to Tharepati (3640 m) 7/8 hrs

From Gosainkunda, the downhill trekking takes place as we reach Tharepati upon descending. Passing by the glacial rivers and forests as well as villages of ethnic people in about 5 hours we will reach Tharepati.

Day 12

 Tharepati to Kutungsang 5/6hrs

The trekking would be around 6 hours and passes through the forests. This Langtang National Park area is very much significant in terms of endangered animals, birds and vegetation. This junction of the trekking in Helambu area in Nepal is best for the nature lovers

Day 13

 Kutungsang to Chisapani, 6/7 hrs

The trekking from Kutumsang to Chisapani will be magnificent as it passes by the terraced farmlands. The village of the Tamang origin people and the fields will be a new experience for the city dwellers. The trekking period would be around 4-5 hours.

Day 14

 Chisapani to Sundarijal 3 hrs and 1 hrs drive Kathmandu

The walking in the trail would pass through the temperate forest and Tamang village. The trekking would be around 4 hours.Then from Sundarijal the drinking water source of the Kathmandu Valley bus drive of about 1 hour will take you to the Kathmandu

Day 15

Sightseeing in kathmandu valley

The tour leader of Peregrine Treks will take you to the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE listed sites of Kathmandu valley such as Pashupatinath Hindu temple, Swyambhunath Buddhist stupa know as monkey temple, Boudhanath Buddhist shrine, Kathmandu Durbar Square also popular by living Kumari God.

Transfer to airport for hour departure

Today is your last day in Nepal to say Namest is the warm greeting of Nepalese. Try to make next plan with our company. You will be busy on shopping on this day but we will transfer you three hours before at the airport in private vehicle.
