Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

    Peregrine Treks representative will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek plan and requirements will discuss at the hotel.

  • Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Bhandar via Jiri

    The early morning drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar, about 187 km of the journey, takes place on this day, passing by Jiri, the magnificent small town. This place is the traditional Everest Base Camp and expedition journey starting time. The drive from Jiri to Bhandar would be mesmerizing because of the views of mountains like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Dorje Lakpa.

  • Day 03: Bhandar to Sete (2575m/8450 ft): 6/7 hrs

    The descending trekking takes place through thick forests crossing small glacial rivers and the small village of Dokharpa and Baranda. Then the trekking will ascend towards Surma Khola and continue the journey to Likhu Khola Valley. Finally, Sete passed by the Chimbu and settled in Kenja.

  • Day 04 Sete trek to Junbesi (2670 m/8760 ft): 6/7 hrs

    The uphill trekking to Lamjura La, passing by a forest of maple, rhododendrons, pine, magnolia, birch, and local vegetation, consists of slight descent to Tragdobuk and Junbesi.

  • Day 05: Junbesi trek to Nunthala (2220m/7280 ft): 6 hrs

    Crossing the stream past Junbesi with an uphill climb up the forest and after an hour’s trekking, the views of the Himalayas appear in front of your eyes. The visible mountains would be Nuptse, Makalu, Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Mera Peak, and other mountains. This place provides the first view of Mount Everest. Further descending to Ringmo Khola and again ascending to Salung takes place. Then another hour of descending will take you to Nunthala.

  • Day 06: Nunthala to Bupsa (2360 m/7,740 ft): 5/6 hrs

    The descending trekking activity takes place from Nunthala to Dudh Koshi River. Then the trail follows the River heading upward to the Khumbu region of Nepal. The steep uphill from Khari Khola takes you to Bupsa.

  • Day 07: Bupsa to Surke (2290m/7282ft): 5/6 hrs

    From Bupsa, the trail is wooded and passes the Karte. The path from Kharte would be an uphill climb taking you to Khari La Pass. The climbing and downhill along the Khari La Pass, Khumbila Mountains lap, and Puiyan finally reach the Surke.

  • Day 08: Surke to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 4/5 hrs

    The trail takes uphill from the Surke area, climbing momentum towards Charikharka. Then the trek moves to Phakding, ascending to Chhiplung.

  • Day 09: Phakding to Namche

    Phakding to Namche is a relatively easy trekking time spanning up to 3 hrs. The trail comprises a suspension bridge with colorful prayer flags on it. The views of the mountains start to welcome you towards its lap. The highlight of this part of the trail would be the Tibetan wall paintings and the occasional pictures of the mountains.

  • Day 10: Acclimatization day in Namche.

    In the early morning, has a small breakfast and go to Everest View Hotel. Everest Base Camp trekking requires strength and endurance as well as willpower. The day’s rest will be taken in Namche to prepare for the trek upwards. The acclimatization hiking will take place as you will be taken to the world’s highest-located hotel, The Everest View Hotel, after Breakfast.

    The panoramic views of the mountains and the hotel’s surrounding area are splendid. It is highly recommended that the trekkers go through the acclimatization hiking as it prepares their body and soul for the trekking.

  • Day 11: Namche to Tengboche

    The trekking trail from Namche to Tengboche consists of everyday flat land trekking and steep uphill. The flat trail trekking provides outstanding views of Mountains like Thamserku, Everest, Pumori, Lhotse, and other Himalayan ranges.

    The trail on the banks of Dudhkoshi River and the rhododendron forests amaze you. The distant scenes of the majestic Himalayas will also mesmerize you and let you forget today’s hardship. Once you have reached Tengboche, serenity prevails. The continuous prayers and the smell of incense from the monastery would ignite your spiritual self.

  • Day 12: Tengboche to Dingboche

    The trekking trail is slightly downhill and enters the small valley passing by Pangboche. The usual crossing of the river from the suspension bridge and wooden bridges are there with the general view of the mountains above you.

  • Day 13: Dingboche to Khangsaar Village/Nagarjun for your acclimatization

    Another rest day will occur in Dingboche. We have carefully designed this itinerary to provide the maximum safe adventure possible. Therefore this acclimatization trek should take place. This acclimatization trekking to Khangsaar Village would allow you to witness the Sherpa Community culture and lifestyle. After discussing with the trekking leader, we will take you to Nagarjuna or Khangsaar. The climatic factors and the conditions of the trekkers would be the reason behind these destinations.

  • Day 14: Dingboche to Lobuche

    The trekking starts uphill, and the trail would be in a small Mountain Valley. The place is so romantic because of the picturesque views of the mountains and surrounding hills. Once we have lunch in Dukla, steep uphill trekking will take you to the Lobuche.

  • Day 15: Lobuche to Gorekhshep to EBC and return to Gorekhshep for night

    This day’s trekking ends in anticipation. Though the trekking body starts to drain out, the expectation of reaching the foothill of the world’s tallest mountain motivates your willpower. Once you have reached the EBC, the region’s views and grandeur amaze you. If the time is during the climbing season of Everest, then meeting the climbers and listening to their tales would be a mesmerizing experience. Once you have savored and walked in the lap of Mount Everest, you have to trek back to Gorakshep for accommodation.

  • Day 16: Gorakhshep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche

    The early morning hike from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar is another rich experience in your EBC trekking. The views of the surrounding mountains and the sun rays coming out of the basement of the Himalayas kissing its tip would be the best scenes ever viewed by your eyes. The flocks of trekkers passing by and the splendid views of the Mountains would be your most memorable morning of a lifetime. After breakfast, the trekking downhill will take you to Pheriche, passing by a windy valley.

  • Day 17: Pheriche to Namche

    The Pheriche to Namche is relatively easy, and it would be amazing to see the trekkers going to EBC as it gives you satisfaction and a victorious feeling. The mesmerizing memory of your journey will help you finish the trekking quicker than ascending to EBC. Though descending seems to be easy, it should be noted that careful considerations should be taken.

  • Day 18: Trek back from Namche to Lukla

    Trek back to Lukla approximately 6-7 hours

  • Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu

Accommodation

You will stay in Samsara Resort or Hotel Arts Kathmandu during your trek. A solo traveler needs to share the room with a same-gender traveler. If you need a single supplement, you will have to pay an additional cost of about USD 200. During Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek, most of your accommodations contain attached bathrooms, while some of the teahouses may not have, and you may have to share the washing and toilet facilities. Kathmandu and the trekking regions will have sing room facilities in lower elevations, but it will be hard to find them at higher elevations.

Meals

During Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek, you will enjoy typical Nepalese food and international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Indian, etc.). Be sure that the lodges or teahouses will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner as per their available menu. You may not be served breakfast somewhere during your trek. You may get opportunities for welcome and farewell dinners for guests.

    To confirm the trek/tour package, we want a deposit of at least 20% of the total tour/trek fee. The remaining balance must be paid when you arrive in Nepal. We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. Nepal Telecom (owned by the government) and NCELL (owned by the private sector) are the two main SIM card providers in Nepal. It is preferable to get a SIM card at an airport, where staff will assist with activation and data plan purchases. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

    You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.
