Everest Mini Trekking

Peregrine Treks designed Everest Mini Trekking for leisure travelers who can’t go to high altitudes but are willing to see Mount Everest. The maximum elevation of this trek is 3790 meters, and children, as well as senior citizens, can complete this trek. This is an easy and short trek in the Everest region. Usually, one week is enough to complete this trek.

This Everest Mini trekking starts and ends in Lukla. It takes 45 minutes mountain flight from Kathmandu to reach Lukla. The trail goes up to Jorshalle along with the Dudhkoshi River via Phakding and Monjo. You need to spend one night in Phakding, and the next day you will reach Namche. Because of the low altitude, you need not stay an extra day in Namche for acclimatization on this trek. This trek provides a chance to meet the charming Sherpa people, understand the affection of Sherpa Culture, savor local cuisine, and witness the grandiosity of the mighty Himalayas.

Significant Highlights of Everest Mini Trekking

The major highlights of this trek are the stunning view of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest  – the world’s highest mountain and Mount Ama Dablam – the beautiful mountain, Sherpa Village, exciting Mountain Flight,  Lukla Airport-the world’s most dangerous airport, lush green valley, rhododendrons, and magnolia forest, Namche Bazar – the biggest town in Everest Region.

The final destination of Everest Mini Trekking is Khumjung Village, the Sherpa village above Namche. There is also another tiny village which is named Khunde. These two Sherpa villages with stone walls separate stony meadows with stunning views on all sides. The central place of the Kunde Village is Kunde Hospital, and the Himalayan Trust maintains this hospital. The main objective of this hospital is to treat the local people, but it also provides medical health services to the trekkers. Khumjung is the largest village in the Everest (Khumbu) Area and lies at the foot of the holy peak of Khumbila. Khumjung School is another place to visit in Khumjung.

A day or two spent at Namche for acclimatization can be used to hike to nearby Sherpa villages like Khunde and Khumjung. The hikes will be rewarded with a chance to meet charming people, experience the warmth of Sherpa culture, taste local cuisine, observe developmental milestones, and see the mountains from a fresh angle.
